50 Cent's "Power" Second Most Popular Show On Premium Cable
// Added May 16, 2017
Fans are a little over a month away from the premiere of season four of 50 Cent‘s Power series on STARZ, but they can take a quick breather to celebrate a major milestone. According to Deadline, the show has hit the no. 2 slot on the premium cable list, putting it directly behind Game of Thrones on HBO, which is in the lead.
Last year, Fiddy was left furious when the show was overlooked for even a single Golden Globes nomination. A report from Deadline suggests that he had every right to be upset — it turns out that last season’s premier racked up 2.26 million viewers — the highest ever for the Starz network.
The report also reveals that if multi-platform and delayed views are considered, Power closes out with an average audience of 8 million.
50 went on his Instagram page to announce the news but also vow to gain new viewers this season and become the top show on premium cable next year. “This season I will gain viewer ship and POWER will be #1,” he wrote. “Game of Thrones is great, but POWER is Raw, pure uncut this Season.”
Season four is set to premiere on June 25, as revealed in recently released trailers that hit the web this past month. Power stars 50 Cent, Omari Hardwick, Naturi Naughton, Lela Loren and Joseph Sikora, but we’re sure season four is in for some surprise cameos and plot twists.
